In this article, we’ve outlined how to install the Easy of table contents plugin on your WordPress site so that headings are automatically displayed on your posts.
The need to add a headline to the article
Adding a heading to the beginning of an article allows you to summarize the article’s contents in an easy-to-understand way for readers. The headings added to articles with Easy of table contents are links, and clicking (or tapping) on the link will scroll the screen to the heading within the article.
Adding Easy of table contents to your WordPress site
First, log in to your WordPress site’s admin panel.
Click Plugins > Add Plugin in the left pane.

Enter “Easy of table contents” in the keyword field.

Click “Install Now” button.

Once the installation is complete, click the Activate button.

Enable automatic updates for your plugins.
Set up Easy of table contents
When you are logged in to the WordPress admin panel, ”Table of Contents” settings will be displayed under Settings.

Check the settings.

Even with the default settings, if you install Easy of table contents, it will automatically create a heading at the beginning of an article if the article has two or more heading tags such as h2 tags.
The position of the automatically generated heading can be changed by changing the setting of the Position parameter below.
By default, if there are two or more h tags, a table of contents will be automatically created at the beginning of the article, but you can also change the Shown when parameter to set how many h tags are required for the table of contents to be automatically generated.
